Statement of Faith

Prosperity Place is a faith- based organization and as such believe:

1. We believe that The Bible was written under the inspiration and influence of the Holy Spirit, that it is the inspired word of God and contains His exclusive guidelines for worship and walking in faith with Him. (2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Tim 3:16)

2. We believe that there is only one true God, creator of all things who has revealed Himself as eternally existing in three distinguishable yet indivisible persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; (Isaiah 45:5, 18, 22; Luke 3:21-22; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

3. We believe in the Incarnation of Jesus the Christ; that He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is both fully God and fully man. (John 1:1, 14; Philippians 2:5-11; Colossians 1:9-18; Is. 7:14, 9:6; Luke 1:26-35, 37; Revelation 1:4-8; 22:12-16)

4. We believe that Mankind was created by God in His image and is not the product of evolution; that he fell into sin through direct disobedience to God; he marred God's image in himself, subjected all of creation to depravity, and is unable to save or restore himself. (Genesis 1:26-28, 2:7, 18-24, 3:1-24, 9:6; Matthew 19:4; Mark 7:21-23; John 8:42-44; Romans 1:18, 3:10, 23, 5:1; Ephesians 2:1-3)

5. We believe that Satan was created by God and thus is not and can not be His equal opposite. He is the origin of both sin and mankind’s fall into depravity, and both he and his demons are destined to judgment and eternal punishment in a lake of fire. (Genesis 3:1-8; Matthew 4:1-11; Luke 8:26-36; Matt 8:28-29; Revelation 20:1-10)

6. We believe in the Substitutionary Atonement and Resurrection of Jesus; that He died on a cross shedding His blood in our stead or as our substitute; was buried and raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit fulfilling Biblical prophecy and the redemption for mankind. We also believe that after His resurrection Jesus appeared to many of His disciples before ascending in bodily form into heaven, that He was exalted to the right hand of God the Father, where He intercedes on behalf of The Church for whom He will return. (Isaiah 53:1-6; Luke 24:1-3; Acts 1:1-3, 9-11; Romans 8:34;1 Cor. 15:1-8; Ephesians 1:15-23, Hebrews 1:3, 9:12-14, 22, 28; 1 Peter 2:24)

7. We believe that man’s Salvation is an un-earned favor, that it is received by embracing the shed blood of Christ, His burial and resurrection as substitutionary for his sin and that this is the only way to salvation, eternal life and the kingdom of God, and not by means of good deeds. (Isaiah 53:4-5; Rom. 10:6-17; Rom. 5:1-2; John 3:3,5,14-17; 2 Cor 5:13-15, 17; Col 2:12; Rom. 6:4; Eph. 2:8-9)

8. We believe In Communion, the Washing of Feet and Water Baptism by immersion, as rites of the believer as exemplified or commanded by Jesus. (Luke 22:14-20; John 13:1-17; Matt 28:19; Acts 2:38)

9. We believe in The Infilling of The Holy Spirit to empower believers to both share and prove their testimony of Jesus. (Luke 24:44-49; John 7:37-39; Acts 2:4, 38-39;10:44-48; 19:6; Rom 12:6-8; 1 Cor 12; Eph 4:7-12)

10. We believe that The Local Church is the primary entity through which God has chosen to disciple the believer through worship, fellowship, Scripture-based teaching, communion, and manifestations of the gifts of the Spirit when we gather. (Matthew 28:19-20; Ephesians 4:7-16; Acts 2:42-47)

11. We believe in The Imminent Return of Jesus; a "Second Coming," followed by a resurrection of the dead, and after judgment, the righteous will be rewarded, but the wicked will be condemned (Daniel 12:1-3; John 5:25-29; 1 Corinthians 15:50-57; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-5:6; Revelation 20:11- 21:7)

12. We believe in The Tithe and Offering as the primary Biblical means prescribed for funding the operations of and the ministry initiatives of the local church. (II Tim. 3:16, Lev. 27:30-33, Deut 12:1-11, Malachi 3: 1-12, I Cor. 9:1-14, II Cor. 9:6-15)

Statement of Final Authority

Prosperity Place’s Statement of Faith does not exhaust the extent of our belief’s. We believe that the Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God, speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and appropriate conduct, and the Bible therefore is our final authority for matters of belief and conduct. For purposes of Prosperity Place’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our Executive Director and Board of Directors are Prosperity Place’s final interpretive authority on the Bible’s application.

Standards of Christian Conduct

Based upon our statements of faith, statement of final authority, and statement of beliefs, and in order to preserve the function and the integrity of Prosperity Place as a part of the local Body of Christ, and to provide a biblical role model to Prosperity Place’s residents as well as to the community, we believe it is imperative that all persons participating in any aspect of Prosperity Place’s programs, services as a volunteer in any capacity, must affirm their shared belief and agree with, abide by, and reflect the principles of our Statement of Faith, Statement of Final for Matters of Belief and Conduct, and our Statement of Life, Gender, Marriage and Sexuality, which together compromise the Standards of Christian Conduct for Prosperity Place. Because each employee and volunteer is representing Prosperity Place as well as acting as an ambassador for Christ through our services and operations, employees and volunteers must further agree to abstain from any conduct contrary to our Standards of Christian Conduct.

We also believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. We further believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. Hateful, hurtful, prejudicial, or harassing speech, behavior, or attitudes directed toward any individual that are not in accord with Scripture nor our Standards of Christian Conduct are to be repudiated.
